My name is Navneet Alang. I’ve been a writer and editor since the mid-2000s. Though I began my career writing on social and philosophical dimensions of tech, I expanded my focus to include many things: food and drink, identity, race, and more. A (short) lifetime ago, I completed a Ph.D. in English Literature; fiction and theory still matter to me, too.

I’ve written for a wide variety of publications, including the Globe and Mail, The Atlantic, The Walrus, Bon Appetit, Eater, Columbia Journalism Review, New York Magazine, and many more.

You can read a selection of my writing by clicking on the links above.

Currently I am an editor on the Opinion team at the Toronto Star, where I edit and solicit pieces for the Opinion section. I love my job. Please pitch me, especially if you can write.
